Emergency fund
When war breaks out, an earthquake strikes or an epidemic spreads, every hour counts.
Thanks to its emergency fund, Caritas International can quickly mobilise financial resources to support local partners and provide essential assistance to people affected by crises.
Your donation today helps us be ready to act as soon as the next emergency strikes.
Disasters don’t give warning. And when they strike, people affected cannot wait for a fundraising campaign to get underway.
That is why Caritas International has an emergency fund: a financial reserve that enables us to provide immediate support to local teams whenever the situation demands it.
Working closely with communities, these teams understand the local context and can quickly identify the most urgent needs.
Thanks to the emergency fund, they have the resources they need to provide initial assistance, including:

I make a donation€50,000 released for Venezuela
Following the earthquakes that struck Venezuela in June 2026, Caritas International immediately released €50,000 to support the initial emergency response by Caritas Venezuela. Local teams mobilised to meet the needs of affected families, particularly by providing food, safe drinking water and essential supplies.
€100,000 allocated to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
In response to the Ebola outbreak, in a country already affected by conflict, Caritas International released €100,000 from its emergency fund.
This support helps strengthen the work of local teams, including through the distribution of protective equipment and hygiene products, as well as raising awareness of preventive measures. These responses demonstrate why it is essential to have financial resources available before a crisis strikes.

In Ukraine, the Middle East, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and following natural disasters such as those that struck Venezuela and Nepal, Caritas teams continue to support affected communities.
But crises keep coming, one after another. Every new emergency response requires resources, and the funds used must be replenished.
By donating today, you strengthen our ability to respond to future emergencies wherever the needs are greatest.
Because solidarity must be able to act without delay.
