But, inspired by the love that emanates from the cross, we have in our hearts a vision that pushes us forward and overcomes all disasters, injustice, and suffering. This vision is ‘Love without Frontiers’ which is contained in our name, ‘Caritas Internationalis’.

“My family comes from the migration as a child. My paternal grandfather was born in China. His mother was very poor and entrusted him to a relative who was going to the Philippines. That’s where I was born and I grew up.
Migration is an opportunity for people to thrive. It is a real chance to create a better life for them, but also for future generations. Even if destructive forces such as war and poverty sometimes disturb the lives of men and their families, migration shows us the nobility of the human spirit. Like Christ on his path of the cross, migration pushes people beyond their physical and mental limits, tests their abilities and makes them cross deserts of solitude and rejection. But the migrants bear these sacrifices for a noble cause. (…)”
