Some migrants are more vulnerable that others, such as unaccompanied migrant children. Unaccompanied children are individuals under 18 years of age who are staying in Belgium without their parents. Caritas International has established a team of professional guardians for them, who serve as the legal representatives of these unaccompanied children. These representatives defend each unaccompanied child’s interests, build a trust relationship with the child, guide and support him or her and work with the child to find the best long-term solution, in our country or elsewhere.
